70’s architect house

Situated near the beautiful city of Chartres, and only 1:30 hour by car from Paris, this astonishing 70’s architect house is full of authenticity. With a total of 273 square meters, the homestead is calm and close to the shops.

Built by an architect in 1973, and inspired by houses from the South of Algeria, the property is a real travel back in time. With no classic and geometric walls, the house gives the atmosphere of cave houses. Like a real maze, the different spaces are accessible through different staircases.

When we enter the house, we are welcomed by a nice entrance, which delivers every rooms of the ground floor. Spacious with its high ceilings, the living room and dining room are united in one big area around a nice fireplace. The half-opened kitchen invites to sharing, with a nice view on the garden. Two bedrooms, with their own shower room, are completing the ground floor.

On one side, some stairs are leading to the first floor. Two bedrooms, with again their own shower room, were created apart from the staircase. On the other side, another staircase is leading to a mezzanine. Completely isolated from the rest of the first floor, the master bedroom is equipped with a bureau and a separated bathroom.

In the basement, the garage was closed to create several spaces for large stocking rooms.

By continuing to the outside, the terrace opens on an astonishing dining area, great for sunny days : an opened oven and a stone dining table are placed under a wide glass bubble, for a futuristic atmosphere. By then, we are accessing to the garden through different little paths. Full of trees, flowers and bushes, the garden is real place of calm and serenity. Another terrace under a cherry tree will be the perfect place for summer nights gatherings.
