Built in 1953 in Saint-Paul-de-Vence by the architect of Russian origin Andreï Svetchine, this villa of 250 m2 limestone preserved “in its own juice” seems to play with Mediterranean codes, located on a plot of 2600 m² decorated with citrus fruits, olive trees and bougainvilleas invite as much to the contemplation, as to the walk.

Made famous by its constructions of villas (in particular those of Marc Chagall in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Saint-Paul-de-Vence), the Fernand Léger museum in Biot, and by its restorations of azure institutions (the Church Nice Orthodox, the Inn of La Colombe d’Or), the architect has in this “Mas Mamola” fashioned Moorish mosaics in terracotta, exhibited the oak beams framework, thought and laid out the terraced gardens planted with Mediterranean species, the pool lined with a half-timbered railing, summer kitchen, pool house, Japanese pools and sauna complete the exteriors of this atypical mas.

The salon recreates the atmosphere of a stately home, adopting the language of warrior masculinity: a log fire (carved wooden lintel, convex granite jambs), vaults and master tapestries. In the kitchen and the master suite, the rounded lines and soft tones (white, beige and raspberry) bring softness and a feminine touch. These surprising biases mixing styles, times and spaces seem to question the inhabitant as the visitor.

Once past the solid oak studded door, a few steps lead to the living room adjoining a separate kitchen. To the left of the front door, the corridor leads to an office and a master bedroom adjoining the bathroom, as well as a black marble shower room. A staircase leads to the lower level which includes a second suite, a secure wine cellar, and a bedroom with an independent entrance door also leading to a terrace and garden.
