Built in white chalk stone in the Directoire/Second Empire style, the castle was built between 1840 and 1846 for Mr. Lallart de Lebucquière.

All the sculptures are by Aimé and Louis Duthoit. Sold in 1947 to the Houilleries Nationales du Nord et du Pas de Calais for its social work “holiday camps,” it then became the property of the Valenciennes family allowance fund, always with the goal of holiday camps.
