17th century castle in the heart of a green park
This historic 17th century castle is located less than 150km from the center of Paris. It was given to a page by King Charles X and has been in the hands of the same family since the beginning of the 19th century.
Developing a little more than 400m² on the ground for the master’s building, it is completed by an outbuilding of more than 260m² on the ground, in the heart of a wooded park of almost 4 hectares.
Out of sight, the castle becomes visible little by little. Once through the gates and after discovering the sober and elegant façade of the castle, it is the dovecote, a sign of prestige that catches the eye. With more than 2000 terracotta bowls, it is an architectural witness to the era.
The entrance to the castle sets the tone for the preserved authenticity. High ceilings, period stone floor with cabochons, clarity. It serves two reception rooms on its right. The herringbone parquet flooring and the ceramic wood stove contribute to the warm atmosphere.
Back in the entrance, on the left the large kitchen takes place. Here again, authenticity is there. The stone sink, the majestic Alsatian stove, everything invites you to sit down and share friendly moments.
Technical rooms such as the laundry room or the boiler room completely on this level.
Next, a majestic staircase is revealed. Throughout its climb, the discovery of a fresco painted up to the last level delights the eye.
The sleeping areas are distributed over the two upper levels.
Three bedrooms, several dressing areas as well as a central bathroom make up the first floor.
The second and final level includes four bedrooms, dressing rooms and a central bathroom.
The common thread of these sleeping spaces is the ?country-chic’ spirit which elegantly enhances the volumes, the bases, the tiles, the light and immediately gives the whole a feeling of serenity.
In addition to the adjoining house of more than 260m², several barns and outbuildings complete this historic property.
Lovers of old buildings will be keen to successfully preserve this historic heritage, giving it the attention and work that this property deserves to continue its story, which could be imagined as both a family home and tourist accommodation. The field of possibilities is vast.
