Located 20 minutes from the city center of Niort and on the axis of La Rochelle, this old farm has been redesigned into a sanctuary of well-being with Japanese accents. A true haven of peace, it is located in the heart of a small typical village, at the gates of the Marais Poitevin, an unparalleled natural park with one of the streams crossing the garden. The recent renovation was designed to highlight the soul of the house.
The comfort and charm of the old have today elegantly married certain modern elements which bring comfort and a feeling of fullness to the whole. The living room, a central room of 40m2 where stone, wood and metal coexist harmoniously, benefits from a ceiling height of around 4 meters in places. Its small alcoves, its old period fireplace which today houses a fountain, its rack staircase are all appreciated details. As an extension, the bright, modern, elegant and friendly kitchen is equipped with beautiful equipment.

A second living room, also open to the kitchen, benefits from a fireplace and its wood stove which invites you to rest and read during the long winter evenings. At the same level, access to one of the centerpieces of the building, a modern and luxurious Italian-style SPA is dedicated to relaxation. It is composed of a sauna and a high-end hammam, a bathroom and a Japanese water closet which completes the whole. Upstairs, the configuration is identical, under the framework left traditional during the recent renovation. The mezzanine serves on the one hand an office and a beautiful master bedroom with its modern bathroom reminiscent of the design of the SPA.

On the other side of the mezzanine, a guest bedroom also benefits from its own bathroom. This distribution, all in length, gives a real feeling of independence and intimacy to the guests. The refined garden with essences of lavender, Mexican orange trees and olive trees has been completely redesigned to blend with the meditative atmosphere of the place. Here, it is possible to come and go from the outside and the garden to the inside of the house thanks to the numerous French windows and bay windows which constitute one of the major assets of this building of more than 200 m2, thus bathed in light from sunrise to sunset. The possibilities are numerous in the various outbuildings which offer a total additional surface area of more than 120m2, awaiting a project for gîtes, guest rooms, and even why not a yoga studio or artist’s studio.
