Built in 1923 in the commune of Gercourt and Drillancourt, this impressive architectural work is set on 6 levels, each offering 250 m² on 23 acres of land. In the past, this factory produced bolts, screws and wire mesh, but also parts for major car manufacturers.

The building is composed of 3 habitable levels of 250 m2 each. Access is via a wooden walkway opening onto a large, uncluttered room that leaves plenty of room for imagination. A kitchen is added to this space. On the upper floor, there is a spacious living room with several armchairs and relaxation areas, at the end of which an open kitchen precedes four bedrooms, each with its own shower room. Finally, the upper level is a loft-style flat opening onto a huge living room illuminated by its many windows around the perimeter of the latter offering a breathtaking view of the Verdun landscape. A kitchen and an office space are added to this soothing space followed by two bedrooms, a bathroom and a laundry room.

The two lower levels of the building are characterised by a wood workshop and an iron workshop with machines that leave room for all kinds of creation. The building has Art Deco ornaments, and the fine metal frames of the new windows were made in the workshop. The whole building is connected by a staircase that distributes all the levels and an operational lift to operate the wood-burning stoves. Outside, there is a garden with trees to enjoy on summer days. An attic of 250 m² (2,153 sq ft) completes the property.

This monumental building reminds us that here, for half a century, a particular page of local history was written between the rivers and the fields, to the sound of hammers striking anvils.
